It'll cost you ?20 too
Do you feel the need to get your Apple product as quickly as possible, and are willing to pay extra? If so, then this latest titbit of news will likely be music to your ears.
Apple has just has updated its delivery options, which now include express and timed deliveries, as well as?evenings and Saturdays.
You’re excited, we can tell.
You can pre-select a delivery time that is convenient for you. But it is subject to a fee, and the available options are dependent on your delivery address.
According to Apple those prices are:
Express Delivery. 1 - 3 days after dispatch:??5.00 (excl. VAT).
Pre-Noon Delivery. 1 - 3 days after dispatch, guaranteed before Noon:??10.00 (excl. VAT).
Pre-10:30am Delivery. 1 - 3 days after dispatch, guaranteed before 10:30am:??10.00 (excl. VAT).
Pre-9:00am Delivery. 1 - 3 days after dispatch, guaranteed before 9:00am:??15.00 (excl. VAT).
Evening Delivery. 1 - 3 days after dispatch, guaranteed after 5:00pm:??15.00 (excl. VAT).
Saturday Delivery. 3 - 9 days after dispatch, guaranteed on a Saturday:??20.00 (excl. VAT).
However, there's currently no word on whether or not those who are waiting for delivery of their iPad 2s (ordered online on launch day, 25 March) will be able to retrospectively change their delivery options.
It's unlikely, as Pocket-lint's order for an iPad 2 (due to be dispatched on 15 April, and delivered by 26 April - 11 days later) doesn't list any further options under the "Open Orders" section of our account.
