Google has got out the crayons and knocked up its latest Doodle - this time in aid of Burns Night, which falls on 25 January and is to celebrate the life of Scottish poet and songwriter Robert Burns.

The Doodle is a tribute to Burns' 1794 song A Red, Red Rose and depicts a rose in place of the second g with the tune's title on a music sheet.

Burns was born on 25 January 1759 and Burns Night, with the traditional haggis supper, has been held since the end of the 18th century.

We're almost at a stage now where seeing the regular Google logo would make a change - already in January 2011 the Mountain View company has bashed out 11 Doodles around the world.
