CES 2011: New sound card dongle enhances your sound
The Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D is a new sound card dongle for PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PS3 users that, say Creative, will upgrade your own headphones to THX quality performance.
While the company already offers three gaming headsets in its Tactic 3D range, Creative told Pocket-lint at this year's CES in Las Vegas that it has taken that technology and made it possible for users to use their own headsets and headphones instead.
Designed for those who take their gaming seriously, the Sound Blaster Recon3D comes in a tough durable body to “withstand the rigors of LAN parties and gaming tournaments.”
With that in mind Creative has created a number of enhanced features for the gamer within you, like Xcourt Mode that instantly tunes the audio and optimizes it for First Person Shooter games.
“Hunting enemies is a breeze when you can hear them loud and clear,” reads the blurb on the box.
Like other Creative products the Recon3D features THX TruStudio Pro technology for PC and Mac users.
No word on price or availability as yet but we wouldn’t expect it to be too long before your enhancing your favourite pair of headphones.
