A bit previous for Microsoft
The fact that Acer is one of the partners in Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 plans is no secret, it was confirmed around a week ago. However, it seems as if the companies have been working together, behind-the-scenes, for a lot longer.
In addition, while Microsoft has been hinting that it's far too early in the day to talk specifications and details, Acer didn't get that message. Indeed, the company has even proudly displayed its first WP7 handset at Computex in Taipei in Taiwan. And it's Mango...
In fact, a spec sheet displayed alongside the handset reveals even more: The new device will have a 3.6-inch 800 x 480 capactive touchscreen, up to 8GB of in-built storage, a 5-megapixel camera?with auto-focus,?Qualcomm MSM 8255 1GHz processor, DLNA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1.
Most importantly, it boasts Windows Phone Mango as its OS.
Unfortunately, pics taken by Zol.com.cn don't show the handset running, and we're even a little dubious as to whether the homepage is live or whether it's just a dummy screen. But we'll bring you more when Pocket-lint's own man on the scene makes it to the Acer booth in the near future.
