Founder and CEO Matt Shoup believes in taking care of his people with ample vacation time and an end-of-year bonus.
After getting laid off from a bank in 2004, Matt Shoup, CEO and founder of M&E Painting, used his knowledge of managing a painting business and ran with it. "A lot of our success is due to our philosophy of how you take care of the people who take care of you: your customers and your staff," Shoup says. Employees enjoy a range of benefits from one week of paid vacation after their first year and two paid weeks after two years. As an end of the year bonus, Shoup splits some of the year's profits with employees a to an unofficial profit sharing party at the end of the year.
