SXSW Accelerator application deadline is this Friday

Are you looking for some visibility for your startup? Well, how about you stop procrastinating and apply for the SXSW Accelerator to showcase your tech startup in Austin, TX, on March 14-16, 2011. The deadline to apply is this Friday so you don’t have much time. This is a venue that can bring considerable amount of influential eyeballs to your product, from investors to partners to press.

As with all these things, I wouldn’t recommend to everyone. I think any events like these gives more benefit if you are building a Consumer-focused product. So, skip it if you are building the next cloud-based database architecture engine. It also won’t give you much bang for your buck if your product is too far away from launch – you should have a product that people can try or be ready to launch on the weeks after the event – or if your product sucks. You can have a flawed business model, but not a flawed product.

Here is a FAQ and here is a link to apply. The travel expenses will be nothing compared to the exposure you’ll get. It would cost you tens of thousands of dollars in PR and marketing to get this kind of visibility.
