Android app for anatomy
Google's top bods showed off a number of killer new features of Android 3.0 at the Honeycomb event over in Mountain View on Wednesday - but there wasn't a great deal more that Pocket-lint's own Chris Hall hadn't already told you about, after getting up close and personal with the Motorola Xoom earlier this month.
But one interesting new feature that did stand out was the Google Body app, which Google product management director Hugo Barra demoed.
Google Body launched in the Big G's labs a few weeks back and is "a detailed 3D model of the human body [where] you can peel back anatomical layers, zoom in, click to identify anatomy, or search for muscles, organs, bones and more".
Basically, it's Google Earth - but for the human body. And, on tablet form it looks awesome.
We can definitely picture the next generation of John Dorians, Doogie Howsers or Gregory Houses walking around the hospital with a Xoom under their arm - using Google Body to explain things to patients.
Very cool stuff.
